They
get $112,000 a year but that's just the base. They also get paid to chair
committees while in office. You can view
the list below. Right now, there are 46 committees. Just a few more and
they'll be a committee (read extra bucks) for each one of them. What a coincidence. Oh
yeah, I forgot. If they need more money, they can just give themselves a raise.
Nice.
There
is also no limit on how much
they can make from outside (read full-time job) sources. They do pretty well
for themselves so it's understandable that they want to keep this part-time job
forever. They were all for term limits a few years ago, but now that they are
losing their job to the same law that got them their job, a lot of them don't want
term limits. Greedy huh?
There are a few that
really care about serving the people, but not enough. Many care more about lining their
and their friends pockets much more. The ones that want to overturn your vote
and term limits don't care about any of us. They don't respect our vote which we
did TWICE to keep term limits. I personally think people might have changed
their minds in the past 10 years, but that's not for them to dictate, that's for
us to vote on. If we do, and if it's overturned, then at least I know our
previous votes on this were not ignored. Then we can vote who we want to
keep.
IT'S A PART-TIME JOB!!
Here's list of committee
perks on top of their $122,000 salary.
